Disturbances: Kite boarders scared the seals one day and pier noise caused another disturbance.
Visitors: Volunteers counted 1478 people viewing the seals. Visitors came from Russia, Mexico, Nevada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Minnesota, New York, Washington, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, Rhode Island, Idaho, Louisiana, Wyoming, Vermont. A second grade class also visited.
Natural history notes: Grey whales often come close to shore during the Spring migration. A number have been seen, including a few moms with calves inside the surf zone. A large gopher snake has been noted a number of times hanging out at the overlook.
